Former Mayor of Waterford, City Councillor Tom Cunningham, has appealed to Council management to support local business and jobs as much as possible in awarding work contracts.

Speaking at the Council’s February meeting the Fine Gael member accepted that under procurement guidelines there were limitations to what could be done in that regard, but he stressed that in the current economic climate ‘every ounce of business’ was vital, as was every job secured.
