Half of Waterford cars failed NCT during 2010

Just under half of all the vehicles tested by the National Car Testing Service in Waterford last year failed, according to figures released this week.

Of the 25,469 vehicles tested in Waterford in 2010, 12,391 (48.7 per cent) failed the inspection and had to re-test. Only 158 vehicles were deemed too dangerous to drive and were not allowed leave the test centre.
