On Tuesday night last, 26th Oct, the Little Sisters of The Poor held their last Thanksgiving Mass in the old premises on Manor Hill before they move permanently to their new nursing home in Ferrybank later this year.

The mass was to be celebrated by Bishop William Lee but he was unable to attend at the last minute. The chapel in St.Josephs was full to capacity for the occasion and many people travelled from neighbouring counties to celebrate it along with the nuns who have run the home since its foundation in 1868.

The new purpose built-premises in Ferrybank is built to the highest standards but a lot of people who attended on Tuesday night last said that they would miss the atmosphere of Manor Hill and would feel sad leaving it in the very near future.
