Waterford based eco company Glanco Environmental has officially launched its new character based innovative recycling scheme for beverage containers, ReTotem Rewarding.
The official launch took place recently at City Square Shopping Centre with Mayor John Cummins and centre manager Alan Weston in attendance.
Excited children from St Ursline’s and St Declan’s primary schools joined in on the day.
The kids and adults on the day were all eager to recycle beverage containers for local charity and community causes.
Waterford City will benefit from a tidier town and resource utilization, and local causes will get rewarded for recycling.
For each container recycled a donation will be made to locally nominated causes.
The first beneficiary will be the Lions Appeal 2015.
Users of #Tommy Totem can claim additional offers by scanning smart phones on the QR code and NFC tags located on each character based Totem, rewards for recycling!
This is an innovative initiative that will educate users and promote a sense of pride across our City and County.
Get those plastic bottles and cans into Tommy Totem at City Square for this year’s Lions Appeal 2015.
And don’t forget to scan those smart phones on #TommyTotem to claim further rewards
