Over 2,600 WIT students conferred

A positive note has been struck by the President and Chairman of Waterford Institute of Technology at the first of 12 ceremonies at the College Street campus over three days, during which over 2,600 students were conferred with academic awards up to doctorate level.

Programmes with graduates conferred for the first time included the BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying; Bachelor of Architecture (Hons); BA (Hons) in Criminal Justice Studies and BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies. 

A total of 11 graduates received PhD awards across a range of academic disciplines – namely: Keara Barrett, Clonmel, Co Tipperary; Peter Carew, Farmleigh, Dunmore Road, Waterford; Brenda Mullally, Williamstown Village, Waterford; John Strassner, North Barrington, Illinois, USA; Louise Murphy, Kilbarry, Waterford; Adil Mardinoglu, Ballybricken, Waterford; Jamie Power, Belvedere Drive, Waterford; Lucy Hearne, Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny; Siobhan Moran, Ardkeen Village, Waterford
