The ‘Alex ERoadster’ – Ireland’s fi rst production car in over 30 years.

Thirty years after the last De Lorean car was built in Ireland, a brand new car with a new name will soon be in production in this country.
The car causing all the excitement was designed by a Galway man, Tom Finnegan. His ‘Alex ERoadster’ is a two-seater, electric sports car that is supported by funds from the EU and research scientists from DCU, Dundalk IT and Queen’s University Belfast.
It will be a long-range car that will be able to travel 300 kilometres between charges and, even then, an 80 per cent charge will take less than half an hour to complete.
According to reports, the eco-friendly car will pack quite a punch and will have no trouble reaching motorway speeds.
Irish company, Swift Composite Prototypes will build the car with a workforce of thirty at its County Louth plant. The on-the-road cost of the new car has yet to be determined.
