Waterford fares well in national price war
Waterford is among the cheapest counties in Ireland for services, a new survey has revealed.
In an Irish Independent compilation, the county was found to be the cheapest for dental care and dry cleaning, and in welcome news for motorists, among the cheapest for petrol.
For dental care, the average price in Waterford for four basic procedures was found to be €239, compared to €336 in South Dublin.
The cost in Waterford for the dry cleaning of a suit was found to be €13.32, with the national average at €14.70.
The average price of petrol in Waterford is also cheap, with one station in the county recording a price of 126.9 cent a litre, as of August 6th.
According to fuel comparison website www.pumps.ie,
the average price of petrol in Waterford is 129.9 cent, with diesel at 120.9 cent.
However, not everything in the Deise county is entirely cheap.
A visit to a GP in Waterford is the most expensive in the country at €52.81, although the price is still within a small range of the €50 national average price.
