Waterford IT consultant revels in company’s European award
Origina, a leading Irish Information Technology services company jointly owned by Waterford man Rowan O’Donoghue (pictures in the centre) recently won the ‘Best SMB Solutions Provider’ at the 2010 European IT Excellence Awards in London.
Origina won the award for a project they completed in partnership with the Lakeland Dairies IT team, assisting in the successful design and implementation of a new ‘virtualised environment’ for Lakeland Dairies.
The integrated solution has enabled Lakeland to significantly decrease the risk of downtime, reduce costs, lower carbon emissions and improve delivery times across the organisation.
“We are humbly honoured to win this prestigious European award which
recognises Origina’s ability to perform and compete at the highest levels on the international stage,” said Rowan, son of Brian and Teresa O’Donoghue, St Johns Villas.
He added: “IT has a tendency to get ‘over-complicated’, so much so that it impacts on the customers’ competitiveness, their agility and the overall risk to their business.
