Three Waterford athletes are bound for Barcelona

Athletics Ireland announced its team for the European Championships in Barcelona from July 27th to August 1st and three athletes from Waterford are included two from Ferrybank AC and one from West Waterford.

West Waterford walkers set new Irish Record

In finishing second to Luke Adams from Australia in the 3km, Jamie Costin clocked a brilliant new senior record time of 11.12.07.

Kelly’s double, PB in Belgium

On Saturday last at an EAP meeting in Nivelles, Belgium two Ferrybank AC members competed, with Kelly Proper scoring a double.

Sunday was a very good day for Waterford and especially Ferrybank at the All-Ireland Junior and U23 Championships.

Ferrybank Athletic Club’s star sprinter Niamh Whelan ran the fastest 200 meters of her career when finishing 2nd in Budapest last Sunday at the Europa Cup.

On Saturday last in Tullamore athletes from Waterford schools were in fine form at the All Ireland Schools Track finals.

Kelly shines in Spain
