Bridge

The Ballayduff and Portlaw Bridge Club game last week was won by Fr. Mick O’Byrne and Michael Donovan in the North/South section. Runners up were Margaret White and Peggy Murphy. Third place went to Ann Marie Browne and Maria Taheny while fourth place was filled by Mary Shanahan and Aileen Stephenson.

In the East West category it was Barbara Cunningham and M. Prendergast who came out best, followed by Monica Marnell and K. Henebry in second place. Margaret Sweeney and Ann Cox came third with Nan Murphy and Kathleen Fieldhouse in fourth.

O’Donnachas

Another good weekend of entertainment is in store at O’Donnacha’s Bar featuring “Dooneen” this Saturday while on Sunday its Just Kieran on stage.

Sacristans Collection

The Sacristans annual collection will be taken up at each Mass in Ballyduff this weekend. You are asked to be as generous as possible.

Golf Classic

The Golf Classic being staged by Ballyduff GAA will be on Thursday July 13th at Waterford Castle. Entry fee for a team of four is €200, including meal. The man to contact for tee times is Liam McCarthy Phone 086-6015185.

Local Lotto

There was no Jackpot winner in last Sunday’s local lotto draw.

The numbers drawn were 5, 14, 19 and 26. Prizes of 50 euros each went to Catherine O’Connell, Stephen O’Leary and Michelle Dunphy.

The next draw will be on Sunday July 9th, at the Sweep Bar where the Jackpot will stand at €5000.

GAA Wins

Our Senior hurlers had a win over Clonea in the league while the Intermediate Footballers defeated Portlaw.

Next Tuesday the football team have a home fixture against Butlerstown.
