Renowned Carrick-on-Suir landscape artist Teresa Moran is currently exhibiting a collection of her work in the Craft Granary, Cahir to August 29th. Her latest exhibition ‘Echoes’ captures timeless landscape, river and sea scenes from Tipperary, Waterford and Cork which she has beautifully crafted on canvas.
Teresa’s exhibition was officially opened on August 5th by award winning writer and poet Michael Coady who has known and appreciated her artwork for many years.
He spoke highly of her talent and commented on the striking effects of the light used in her work and the ‘magical realism’ and ‘real sense of place’ it evoked in him. Michael was particulary impressed with the Carrick-on-Suir scenes as he also had grown up and lived in the town and like Teresa has a great love of its history, people and the River Suir.

He read art and river themed sonnets from his own work to the guests gathered for the evening and commended Teresa for the great passion she has always had for her painting. Teresa who also trained for two years in Italy was invited to show her work at the 5th International Biennale of Contempory Art in Florence in 2005.
To thank Michael for officially opening her exhibition Teresa presented him with a beautiful piece of her work entitled ‘River View’. She also thanked Kathryn O’Brien Outreach Officer at the Craft Granary in Cahir for facilitating her display and all her guests for supporting the opening night. Light refreshments were provided.
Teresa who now lives in West Cork returns regularly to her native Carrick. She exhibits widely around the country and much of her work is held in private and public collections. A selection of her paintings can be viewed on her website:- www.artbyteresamoran.com
