Carrick Musical Society’s 92nd production, ‘Sweeney Todd’, opens at the Strand Theatre this Saturday, February 27th – and we’re glad to report that the show is in great shape prior to curtain up!
A few tickets are still available at the Strand Theatre Box Office (051-645050) or 086-3571403, and credit card facilities are available.
Last week an incorrect phone number caused a little confusion, with an unknown lady in Dublin receiving calls for tickets! So apologies for that dodgy digit!
Society Patrons wishing to avail of Society sponsorship by paying €60 for two tickets for an evening of their choice, plus an invitation to the after Show reception in the Carraig Hotel after the Gala performance on Sunday next.
Anyone interested should contact Alice Hunt (087-2905420), Alice Hennessy (051-640421) or Dick Meany (087-9183813).
Meanwhile, the annual Society Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Sunday next in St Nicholas’ Church.
It’s a wonderful celebration of thanks and hope for the past 67 years, the present, with the Society staging its 92nd production, and looking forward with great optimism to the future.
Society members will participate in the readings and prayers, remembering especially the members and relations who have died over the past year. With Chorus Mistress Catriona O’Dwyer at the keyboard and Helen Hahessy conducting, the members will sing during the Mass. All members, families, friends and patrons are invited to join with the Society in this annual celebration.
