Proposed draft variation to town development plan

Carrick on Suir Town Council being the relevant Planning Authority has given notice pursuant to Section 13 (2) of the Planning and Development 2000/9 that it has prepared a Proposed Draft Variation of the Town Development Plan 2008. The proposed Draft Variation relates to lands at Tinvane, Pill Road. It is proposed to vary the current Town Development Plan in order to broaden the range of uses acceptable on the Master Plan O4 lands at Tinvane in accordance with the following description:-

“The provision of comparison retailing not exceeding 1,486 square metres (16,000 square feet) to provide for comparison retailers that require larger floor space, that will be acceptable within any two units or within any two units subdivided into one larger unit of the permitted and constructed four retail warehouse units. No subdivision of the existing retail warehouse units, other than to facilitate the 1,486 square metres comparison retailing referred to above, shall be permitted and any additional future retail development on this site shall be strictly bulky goods retail warehousing in nature”.

In complying with Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive (2001/42EC), the Planning and Development Strategic Environmental Assessment 2004 and article 6 of the EU Habitats Directive

(Directive 92/43/EEC), Carrick on Suir Town Council has determined that a Strategic Environmental Assessment and an Appropriate Assessment are not required.

A copy of the proposed Draft Variation and the Screening Decisions are available for public inspection at the Town Council Offices, New Street from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 to 4.30 pm until Monday 20th September 2010. Details are also available for viewing on the South Tipperary County Council website www.southtippcoco.ie.

Written submissions or observations in relation to the proposed Draft Variation made in writing to the Town Council within the aforementioned period will be taken into consideration by the Council before the making of the Variation.
