Town CCTV cameras in place
The ten cameras as part of the RAPID Community Based CCTV Scheme are now in place. The final two cameras were installed in Ballylynch and St. John’s Terrace this month. A viewing system for the ten cameras is in place in the Garda Station and signage to alert residents and visitors is also being installed. All the images are the property of Carrick on Suir Town Council but the Gardai can request these images if required.
Residents of estates have already reported that the cameras have acted as a deterrent to anti social behaviour. The RAPID Programme would like to thank the Resident Groups and the Traders who have given full support in the implementation of the project.
