Wild Child Photo Competition
To celebrate 2010 as International Year of Biodiversity, the Heritage Council is inviting the public to take part in the Wild Child Photo Competition. To enter all you need to do is to submit an image or images you think captures the spirit or idea of biodiversity and provide a brief caption explaining the picture. The photographs should be of habitats or wildlife and include people in some shape or form.
The images should convey the coexistence of species and or the variety of life on earth whether it is in garden, at some National Heritage Week activity or further afield. The deadline for entry is Friday 10th September and images must be uploaded to http://pix/go/heritageweek. The competition is open to all age groups and there are prizes in the various age categories.
In the adults the 21 and over category, the first prize is an Irish Landmark Trust Weekend voucher valued €500 and there are two runner-up prizes of €55 Family Heritage Cards. In the Youth category aged 13 to 20, the first prize is a One4All gift voucher and two runner-up prizes of Eason online gift certificate valued €40. In the Junior category aged 7 to 12, the first prize is a One4All gift voucher valued €75 and two runner-up prizes of Eason online gift certificate valued €30.
