Big turnout for Kieran’s Benefit Night
There was a very good turnout at the Park Hotel last Friday for the Benefit Night for former Waterford football star Kieran Power of John Mitchels who is now suffering with Multiple Sclerosis.
There was a superb 40-minute video showing Kieran in action in his playing days as well as interviews with several prominent GAA figures. There was also a “one to one’’ interview with Kieran himself and the renowned local journalist John A. Murphy.
The sale of the DVD, as well as a very successful auction of items that included the 1959 and 1963 All-Ireland senior hurling final match programmes signed by the great Frankie Walsh, raised a significant amount for what is a very deserving cause.
Our congratulations to Kieran’s brother Pat who was the main organiser of the event, and to the many other people who made it all possible.
