This weekend pretty well marks the end of an era in our town with the retirement of Garda Eddie Fitzpatrick from the force of which he has been such an outstanding and exemplary member for so long.
A native of Laois, Garda Fitzpatrick has spent the bones of 30 years locally, during which time he endeared himself to one and all in the key role of Juvenile Garda Liaison Officer which he has filled with such distinction for many years.
