St Patrick’s Day in Dungarvan
This year the Reviewing Platform will be changed and updated with the provision of a professional stage which will accommodate both the guests and the pre-Parade entertainers as well.
As usual, the Parade, led by the Colour Party and Dungarvan Brass Band will lead off from Coolagh Road at 3.00pm to make their way via Sexton Street and the Causeway to Grattan Square where they will pass the Reviewing Stand and the parade judges who will allocate the many prizes. Onwards then via O’Connell Street, Wolfe Tone Road, turning left past St. Mary’s School to Mitchell Street before turning left down Mary Street to enter Grattan Square again. The Parade will disperse at the Civic Offices on Davitt’s Quay.
As has happened in the last few years, the Parade will be preceded by a procession of vintage cars and tractors and the musicians and dancers of Cul Cheoil will entertain the crowd on the stage before the Parade proper commences. It promises to be a most enjoyable occasion as usual and, weather permitting, will attract the several thousand who usually turn out to see the spectacle.
