Starring For The County
With the senior hurlers and footballers both doing the county proud in their respective National Leagues last Sunday the local men on both teams played starring roles. In Thurles the hurlers fashioned a thrilling draw with Tipperary, and just as in the game against Cork the previous Sunday it was a last gasp pointed free by Eoin Kelly that earned us that draw.Dungarvan clubman Jamie Nagle had another fine game in defence as did Richie Foley in the middle of the field. Well done to both. Meantime at Fraher Field the senior footballers well and truly turned on the style as they routed Wicklow by nine points and took another major stride towards Promotion to Division Three.
