Local Gardai are investigating a recent incident on O’Connell Street in which a local teenage boy was attacked by at least two people in which he received some injuries, thankfully none were serious. The incident occurred around 9 o’clock at night when the young man was approached and asked for a cigarette. He was then set upon and knocked to the ground where he received a number of blows and kicks before his assailants ran off.
