Harbour development

There is still no news on the proposed Harbour Development which would involve the construction of a new harbour wall outside the present East Pier it was reported last week when the Waterford Labour Deputy Brian O’Shea was informed by Brendan Smith, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food that his Department is currently considering the cost-benefit analysis it commissioned on the development.
He said that €470,000 was allocated this year towards work in Dunmore under the Fishery Harbour and Coastal Infrastructure Development Programme. These include repairs to the East Pier (Phase 11), safety and maintenance measures, upgrading of the slipway and access to the West Wharf. These repairs are ongoing at present.
