Fenor Sale of Work
The annual Fenor Sale of Work is celebrating its 40th year in existence this year; it takes place this Sunday, November 24th, at 2.00 p.m. in Fenor National School. The very first sale of work had local women in the community coming together knitting and making items, and I hear a lot of women came together again to help ice those famous Fenor Christmas cakes. The older generation kept it going for years, giving it the best name for entertainment and value. This year, celebrating its 40th anniversary, it’s promising to be as good as ever, if not better. While earlier than expected, you can be sure Santa will be there along with the odd Grinch! The spinner will also have great prizes such as Christmas cakes, turkeys, hams and coal vouchers. The main prize of the day is the Fenor Hamper valued at €1,500. Tickets are available on the day and from committee members. Get their early, to try your luck at the Spinner!
