Glenmore National School is preparing a display to mark the bicentenary of St. James Church, Glenmore on Sunday, November 24th. We invite people to submit old photographs, religion books etc. to Glenmore National School. Please label items and we promise to return them safely. Bishop Seamus Freeman of Ossory will concelebrate mass with the Papal Nuncio in Glenmore church on the same day.

Irish Kickboxing Championship

Well done to Conaill Lynch, Graigunakill who was a member of the Irish team that travelled to Italy recently for the finals of the Irish Kickboxing Championship. Conaill, who was fighting in the U.S division, was narrowly beaten by the eventual gold medal winner.

Christmas Cards

St. Vincent de Paul Glenmore has Christmas cards for sale in the parish office. It is €3 per pack of ten. Glenmore Golden Club’s St. Vincent de Paul annual Christmas dinner will take place on Tuesday 10th December at 11:30am in Glenmore parish hall. Names must be given to any of the following by 3rd December in order to facilitate the caterer: Marie Jones (086-8443430), Kathleen Phelan (087-6333449), Helen Saunders (087-9838335) or Bridget Murray (086-0620675).

Recent Deaths

We extend sympathy to the family and friends of the late Geraldine “Ger” Murray, Cork Road and Dublin. Burial took place in Slieverue cemetery on Sunday 10th November.

Floral Arrangement Demonstrations

On Tuesday 26th November at 7pm, floral arrangement demonstrations will take place in New Ross library. Dazzle your friends this Christmas with centre pieces and door hangings. There will be a raffle on the night for the pieces created. Booking essential. Phone 051-421877.

Draw for GAA Development Fund

Draw results for November GAA Tullogher development fund: Bridget Grennan, Ballycurran, top prize €500; Seamus Phelan, Smithstown, €200; and €100 to John Kent, Ballyreddy, Mary Barrow, Brownsford, Michael Lyng, The Rower and John and Michelle Ryan, Gullagh.

New Ross Singers Concert

New Ross singers are holding a concert featuring favourite operatic choruses and solos with orchestra this Sunday 24th November at the parish church, New Ross at 8:15pm. The soloists this year are Sinead Campbell, soprano and Julian Hubbard, tenor. Admission is €15 or €8 for students and children. Tickets are available from New Ross singers members and also at the entrance to the church on the night.

Tullogher Rosbercon Road Run

The vintage club’s recent road run was a great success with over 50 vintage tractors and cars taking part. Money raised from the event will be presented to local groups on Thursday at The Parish Pump. The club will hold its annual dinner dance in association with the Hillside Vintage Club on Friday 6th December at the Rhu Glenn, Slieverue. Tickets are €25 and are available from club secretary Peter Ryan at 087-9381443.

Memorial Mass

The memorial mass for President Kennedy will be held in the parish church, New Ross this Friday 22nd November at 7pm. It will be held by Bishop Denis Brennan of Ferns and all are welcome to attend. At 6pm a wreath will be laid on the quay in honour of the 35th President of the United States.
