Soprano

The Hook Peninsula Tourist Board presents the award winning soprano Celine Byrne, winner of the Maria Callas award in St.James Church Ramsgrange on Sunday 4th May at 8pm. Tickets €25, which includes door prize. Contact the Festival Office at 051-397502.

New Ross Pantomime

The society hosted a table quiz in The Rag on Wednesday night with all the proceeds going towards a building fund for the orphans of Belarus and victims of the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster of 1985.

Annual Triduum

The annual Triduum in preparation for the Feast of Our Lady, Mother of Good Counsel, will begin in St.Augustine’s Church, New Ross this Wednesday 23rd April at 10am Mass and will continue on Thursday and Friday at 10am Mass.

The Feast will be celebrated this Saturday 26th April at 10am Mass.

Thursday is the Feast of the Conversion of St.Augustine.

Active Retirement

New Ross Active Retirement had their trip to Mount Congreve on Thursday 10th April which was enjoyed by all.

Poulpeasty Variety Show

The show will be in The Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola on Friday 30th May 2008. The artists include High School Musical, Irish dancing group, Shakey from Beat, John Reilly and Liam Sharkey, Bronagh Hogan, tin whistle players, set dancing group, community games dancing, priest Fr.Redmond, ballad group, Miriam Clodagh, Michaela, Connie, dancing group from Clongeen.

Congratulations

To Samantha Kirwan, New Ross, who has won the prestigious title of Miss Waterford Universe, and is a manager at the Elizabeth Arden make-up counter in Debenhams in City Square Waterford. She has a Glenmore connection with John Kirwan from Robinstown being her father.

Official Opening

Deputy Sean Connick cut the tape at the official opening of Murphy’s Furniture Store at the Ring Road, New Ross recently. Sean Connicks has Glenmore connections, his mother formerly Peggy Ryan of Milltown Glenmore.
