Cllr Breathnach elected Chairman of Association of Irish Regions

Kilmacow native and Piltown electoral area councillor Tomás Breathnach was elected chairman of the Association of Irish Regions at its recent AGM. The association is comprised of the eight regional authorities in the country and the two regional assemblies, and maintains an office in Brussels, which lends great support to those who wish to avail of funding assistance and advice on EU Programme.

Last month, Cllr Breathnach opened the association’s seminar in the Marine Institute in Oranmore, Co Galway. One of the first tasks that Tomás was involved in was preparing a submission to the Department of the Environment entitled ‘Helping to Drive Regional Economic Recovery’.
