Documentary on Behal Escape
Richard Behal, who spent much of his adult life in Kilmacow and who was involved in republican activities in the 60s and 70s, is the subject of a documentary on TG4 on Thursday, April 22nd, at 10.15pm.
It will centre on Behal’s escape from Limerick Jail in February of 1966.
Behal and others from South Kilkenny were arrested and held in Limerick after damage was done to British warship Brave Borderer, then berthed in Waterford.
It should be of interest to people of that generation and to the many in South Kilkenny who follow historical and political events.
