Fun Fiesta at Kilmacow Sports Complex
After 15 weeks of planning everything was as set as could be for the Fun Fiesta on Sunday last. As the finishing touches were being put in place on Friday and Saturday everybody was eagerly looking forward to a grate day on Sunday. No more could be done in preparation for the day.
Sunay came and it rained and rained but the show went on. Nothing was going to stop us – not even the rain.
As the starting time neared we wondered if people would brave the elements. We needn’t have wondered. They came.
The underage hurling, soccer and camogie got events under way. We thank all our friends who brought teams to play.
Because of the conditions many events were moved on to the tennis court area. Some events just couldn’t take place. Most of the planned events did take place however. People came and supported the Fun Fiesta. To everybody who was there, from Kilmacow and beyond, the committee says a huge ‘thank you’ for your support.
The organising committee of the Fun Fiesta, led by the indefatigable Aidín Hynes, deserves great praise. A sincere thanks also to all the extra people who
came on board to help. Our sincere gratitude also to everybody who helped in any way. A lot of people put in a tremendous amount of work in preparation for the day. There are too many to mention in this short piece but we will get round to it. Thank you to all our sponsors. espite the incessant rain on Sunday everybody who was there enjoyed it.
We all got soaked but nobody cared. There was a great buzz around the Kilmacow Sports Complex. We will have a full report next week. o everybody a sincere thanks.
