Interesting findings from Lisbon Survey
Four out of ten Irish people said they didn’t understand the Lisbon Reform Treaty; however, 70% of Irish people believe EU membership is a good thing.
This was one of the main conclusions in a report by Millward Brown IMS into the attitudes of the Irish people towards the European Union and the recent referendum campaign on the Lisbon Treaty. Fianna Fail MEP Liam Aylward has said: “Four out of ten Irish people who voted no in the referendum on the Lisbon Reform Treaty said they did not have enough information. The vast majority was confused and didn’t understand what they were voting on.
They were misinformed on issues such as conscription to an army and abortion. However, 70% believe the European Union is a good thing. It is clear that the majority of Irish people support membership of the European Union, but that they need more information to be made available on the treaty. Now is the time to inform people in a balanced and accurate manner.”

Hey the quick way around this is simple…
..The goverment will not do anything that will help in being voted out of office as for conscription to the army,
what army we dont have one as such more like home defence but do we really need that ? unless someone trys to take over the goverment (and maybe do a better job).
