Writing workshops at Mullinavat

‘The Magic Pen: writing for everyone’ has two rather special writing workshops scheduled during August. These will be two one-day events with all funds raised going to Nuala Jackson’s school, the XLC Project in Waterford city, which is in great need of funding at the moment just to keep going.

Some of you might know of Nuala and the work she does with early school leavers. Since 1998 more than 400 happy and thriving Early School Leavers have achieved academic qualification through the XLC-project. All have moved from the margins of alienation and social exclusion to become contributing members of society in work, apprenticeship, or college. But they urgently need funds to continue.
Both writing workshops will take place in the Parish Church Hall, Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny (opp St. Beacon’s Church) and are suitable for beginners and more experienced writers. Dates: Saturday, 14th August & Saturday, 21st August from 10.30am to 5pm
If you wish to book a place on either of the workshops please email Margaret O’Brien directly at margaretwriting@gmail.com or phone 087-6390224 stating which date you wish to attend. As always places will be strictly limited to 10 people at each workshop.

Fees for these workshops to be paid online, in advance, through the mycharity.ie website (see link below).

The suggested fee is €50 but if anybody wishes to donate more that will be most welcome. Each participant will be asked for an additional €5 on the day of the workshop to cover the cost of the hall and refreshments.
