Michael Power Memorial Swim

Sincere thanks to everyone who took part in this year’s Michael Power Memorial Swim. Despite freezing conditions and dangerous roads, well over a hundred swimmers immersed themselves in the freezing waters of Kilmurrin Cove. When they emerged from the water they were greeted by loud cheers and hot drinks provided by Kirwan’s Bar, and Dunphy’s Bar from Kill village. The swim committee appreciate their generosity. The swim was in aid of Newport Day Care Centre, Dungarvan. As this year’s swim cards were sponsored by Kirwan’s Bar Kill, proceeds from the swim will be presented at a function to be held there on Friday the 28th of January at 9pm. Music and song, a good night is assured. Now that you have done the swim and endured the cold water, why not come along and enjoy yourself. All are welcome. We remind everyone to return their swim cards as soon as possible. The swim committee wishes all the swimmers and anyone who supported this years swim in anyway a happy and healthy new year
