A second Green Flag for Kilmacthomas Primary School is a fair achievement! On Tuesday last, March 9, the school held a ceremony to celebrate. This prestigious award was for energy awareness and conservation. The Green Flag is in addition to their first Green Flag which was awarded in 2008 for litter and waste minimisation. That was from An Taisce Green School Programme.

Local celebrity Michael Sheehan, from the much loved RTE programme “Fair City”, had the honour of raising the second Green Flag, celebrating together with the pupils, principal Sheila Creed, the staff and invited guests.

The Green Schools committee members are: Jennifer Walsh, Dan Cusack, Siobhán Cleary, Peter Gallagher, Phoebe Bowdren, Jack Sutton, Daisy Tebay Jones, Darragh Power, Patrick Morrissey, Liam Flynn and Tao Behan.

In the Spring sunshine, Sheila Creed, Fr Keogh and Liz Power (teacher) congratulated the pupils and staff for their hard work which has clearly paid off. Well done to everyone involved.
