Horeswood Victory
Horeswood took a further step towards a successful defence of their title with a resounding 4-13 to 2-8 victory over Taghmon-Camross in the county senior football championship at New Ross on Sunday evening last. Hero of the game was PJ Banville who finished with a personal tally of 3-4 as they secured their quarter-final spot. Horeswood team: Diarmuid Hartley, Darwyn Harte, David Larkin, Niall Murphy, Niall Collins, Darren O’Reilly, Steven Collins, Thomas Howlin, Barry Hearne, David Shannon (0-2), Darren Shannon, Ciaran Deely (0-3), Declan Murphy (1-2), Emmett Dohery (0-2), PJ Banville (3-4).
Gusserane Lose Out
Gusserane O’Rahilly’s bowed out of the Wexford senior football championship when they lost out 1-18 to 1-10 to St Anne’s (Rathangan) at New Ross on Sunday evening last. Having led 0-7 to 0-5 at the interval, they increased their lead with an early second half goal. They collapsed in the closing twenty minutes as St Anne’s ran riot to run out comfortable winners.

Clongeen Out
Champions two years back Clongeen were knocked out of the Wexford senior football championship despite defeating Duffry Rovers 3-11 to 0-9. They failed to secure a quarter-final spot on scoring aggregate.
