Horeswood took a further step towards a successful defence of their title with a resounding 4-13 to 2-8 victory over Taghmon-Camross in the county senior football championship at New Ross on Sunday evening last. Hero of the game was PJ Banville who finished with a personal tally of 3-4 as they secured their quarter-final spot. Gusserane Lose Out

Gusserane O’Rahilly’s bowed out of the Wexford senior football championship when they lost out 1-18 to 1-10 to St Anne’s (Rathangan) at New Ross on Sunday evening last. Having led 0-7 to 0-5 at the interval, they increased their lead with an early second half goal. They collapsed in the closing twenty minutes as St Anne’s ran riot to run out comfortable winners.
