Novena masses for Holy Souls are as follows; Killea Church Wed 13th, November, Thurs 14th and Fri 15th all at 7.30pm. The Friday mass is for all who died in last 12 months. Crooke Church dates are: Wed 20th, Thurs 21st and Fri 22nd all at 7.30pm. The Friday mass is for all who died in last 12 months.

Meeting on Confirmation

Any parents in the Parish with children from any of the four school s due to make their confirmation next year are asked to attend a meeting in Crooke Church this Thursday at 8.15 pm.

Dunmore Meeting

Active Retirement Ireland are holding a meeting in “The Strand Hotel” Dunmore on Tuesday November 19th at 2.15pm. Anyone interested in joining or becoming a member of a local committee are welcome.

Craft Fair

Passage East National School will hold a Christmas Craft Fair in the Community Centre on Sunday December 1st from 12 to 4 pm with Stalls, Cake Sale, Raffle etc. Anyone interested in having a stall there can contact any of the following numbers 086 8428791 or 087 1307236 or 087 2950936. Waterford and Omagh Choir present Songs of the Soul in the Edmund Rice Chapel Mount Sion, Barrack St, Waterford on Saturday November 16th at 8.30pm. Donations in aid of Solas Centre

Woodstown Residents Association

The following are the officers and committee elected for the coming year for Woodstown Residents Association: Chair Richard Walsh, Sec Ned Daly, Treas Tom Whittle. Committee:  Ben Power, Joe Byrne, Ned Daly, Pam Kingston, Kay Mackey, Martin Kiely, Caroline Connors, Helen Galvin, Colm Eustace, Richard Walsh, Brendan Grogan, Tom Whittle, Bill Doherty, Julie Fitzgerald O’ Connor, Angela Carey and in absentia, Jimmy Kelly and Declan Sweeney. Eileen Power confirmed that she was not going forward for the new committee and she was thanked for her years of great service to WRA and was presented with flowers on behalf of WRA by Richard Walsh.


The death took place in St Patrick’s Hospital on Sunday November 3rd of Mrs Theresa O’Leary (nee O’ Sullivan) Ballygunner Temple. A native of Faloon, her remains were removed to Holy Cross Church Killea on Tuesday morning November 5th for her requiem mass and her burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her husband Jack and all other relatives.

Dublin City Marathon

Among the many who completed the Dublin City Marathon recently were two men from the Woodstown area Tom Whittle, Cooltegan and Richard Strappe, Kilcop and both covered the distance in very respectable times.

Passage Hurling Club Draw
Recent winners: 1st John Hearne Hillside Grove, Dunmore Rd Waterford; 2nd Phil Gough Faithlegg; 3rd Robert Doyle Passage; 4th Geoffrey Donnelly Crooke. By the time you read these notes the fate of Passage hurlers in the Munster Championship will have been decided. Depending on results elsewhere, Passage under 21 team are due to meet De La Salle on Sunday next at 2pm in Walsh Park.
