Hurling

On Sunday November 10th in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick, Passage hurlers played in their first ever Munster Senior Club Championship game and they gave an absolutely brilliant performance before eventually losing by just two points to hot favourites Na Piarsaigh Limerick playing on their home ground. On a very heavy pitch with rain falling the locals played with a commitment and passion that gave the huge crowd of supporters from the area who travelled a great sense of pride in the entire squad and their mentors. Not one member of the team could be faulted for the tremendous effort all put in and it was only in the dying moments of a terrific game that Na Piarsaigh got two points to give them the win. Passage had come from five points behind to level the game and could have won it themselves. Eddie Lynch in goal was brilliant and a worthy recipient of the Man of the Match award. To the management and back room staff and the entire panel we say rhanks for all the enjoyment and memories ye have provided over a very long year to the entire area, and winning the club’s historic first senior county title. The youngsters now have heroes in our own club to try and emulate. Thanks is also due to the Officers and Committee of the club for their great support and tireless work all year. Roll on 2014 and many more great days out for teams at every level in the club.
