Portlaw 30th Oct

We congratulate Mary O’Brien and Stephen Barrett who married during the week.

Pride in our Parish – Thank You

We thank those who took up the challenge to cycle the 50km or 100km. The weather on the day wasn’t wonderful; a mist came down a short bit into the cycle. Maírín Walsh turned up in the morning with two boxes of scones and cakes while Margaret Carlin arrived over from Ballyduff with dozens of scones for the pit stops, thank you ladies. Sandwiches made by the members of the Finance Council earlier were divided up to meet the pit stop needs and the returning cyclists. Pat Walsh used his van as a support vehicle along with Ger Crotty, John Fitzpatrick, John Walsh and John Crotty who helped steward the event, thank you all very much. Ruth Kelleher and Kathleen Kelly were on hand to brew the tea and serve the refreshments. The lads that opted for the shorter route were beginning to return shortly after the 11am Mass with the others making great strides up the chapel hill after 1.30pm. There was great energy and camaraderie and stories exchanged and the craic was mighty. Fr. Ned and the members of the Finance Council would like to thank all who contributed in any way to Pride in our Parish.
