Christmas Swim

The freezing weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the great crowd that turned out for the annual Christmas swim organised by Stradbally Soccer Club at Stradbally Cove. There was even some Christmas sunshine for those who took the plunge in the icy sea. Santa Claus made a surprise visit on his return to the North Pole. This year there were lots of children taking part for the first time. The soccer club would like to thank all who supported the swim, those who took part, and those who came to watch the proceedings. They would also like to thank Fr Condon, who attended and welcome the swimmers home, and the local pubs that provided refreshments. This year the swim was run in aid of St Joseph’s Hospital in Dungarvan. There is still time to give a donation towards the cause: just drop it into the local shop.
