Award for Stagemad
Tramore man James Power founder/artistic director of Stagemad Theatre Company received the Munster Express/Dooley’s Hotel Southeast Culture/Heritage Award at a reception in Dooley’s Hotel last week.
In presenting this award to James, Dermot Keyes of the Munster Express said this was in appreciation of Stagemad’s commitment to Waterford city and county’s playwrights old and new. This year Stagemad celebrate five years as one of Waterford’s most progressive theatre companies. In the five years they have travelled to the Irish Arts Centre New York City with “Are You the Wife of Michael Cleary?”
As James said on receiving the award “we will continue to provide high quality theatre to the people of Waterford city and county.” This is a well deserved award for a local man’s theatre company. Well done to all concerned.
Stagemad plan to produce a play based on the Glass Factory in the near future, watch out for details. Stagemad are constantly on the lookout for original plays. Contact James only at stagemadtheatre@yahoo.co.uk Check out Stagemad’s website : www.stagemad.ie
