Blues in the night

James Power of Stagemad Theatre Company is delighted to announce that their next production will be ‘Blues in the Night’ written by Waterford playwright Noel Kelly. The story of the play centres around Michael, a Waterford soccer star of the 1960’s whose night of glory against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the European Cup in 1968 promised a golden future. Michael returns home after many years in England to his old home in Waterford. During the course of his stay, old wounds and family secrets emerge which have far reaching consequences for himself and his family. Many football people will remember the glory days of Waterford and their encounter with Manchester United. This is a play for soccer fans and theatregoers alike, a drama of rare quality not to be missed!

The play will be staged at Garter Lane Arts Centre on Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th April. Curtain up nightly at 8pm.

Wednesday night performance costs €10. All other nights cost €15. Tickets can be purchased at Garter Lane Box Office 051-855038 or on line boxoffice@garterlane.ie.
