Rock supports Tramore Radio

There has been talk recently about raising a statue to Tramore Legend Rocky Mills, even better than that you can see Rocky live in O’Sheas Hotel, Tramore, this Easter Sunday night.

Three generations of Tramore musicians will take to the stage on Easter Sunday Night in Tramore with Fretline kicking of the proceedings at 11.30, ‘The Raindogs’ will be backing Rocky on the night and will add some reggae and soul to the mix later on.

It promises to be a night to remember and not just for musical reasons, some well known local faces will take part in a fundraiser ‘Full Monty’. Not to spoil the surprise, but the line-up includes an emergency services worker and someone who might still have his post-man’s uniform. Admission is only 10 euro and all proceeds go towards getting Tramore Community Radio up and running.

More well known Tramore faces will be on show for the TCR FM fundraiser on Good Friday night in The Grand Hotel when Skunk reform to turn a Good Friday night into a Great Friday night. Kieran Fitzgerald, Owen Kav, Doxel and Mark Graham join forces once more with their Ska brethren from Dungarvan and Dublin to shake it up into the small hours of the morning.

Doors will open at a minute past midnight, but for residents who avail of the special rates on offer, it is possible to get in early enough to watch the Rugby. Who needs to go to Limerick! Tickets available from 051 381414. Eighty ‘special’ weekend tickets are available for all three TCR FM events in Tramore this Easter weekend available from Cahills, The Vic and Murphs for the recession busting price of 20 euro. This ticket will get you into the events mentioned above and the Far Too Many DJ’s night in The Baldy Man on Saturday, April 3.

Tramore Community Radio is urging the people of Tramore to get behind the town’s very own radio station. With over 120 volunteers from the community, getting up and running in the very near future is the priority for the radio station.
