Seachtain na Gaeilge

All things Irish were celebrated in CBS Tramore this week. A number of activities to mark Seachtain na Gaeilge took place. Second year students were busy making posters based on Irish Seanfhocail and organising and partaking in a table quiz as Gaeilge. Senior students travelled to Kilkenny to see an Irish play. On Friday 13th first and second year students had a fun and enjoyable Ceili during their lunch break.

The past week also saw sixth years and transition years having their annual retreats. A very enjoyable day involving discussion, music, group work and role play was had by all. Transition year students are looking forward to welcoming Liz Reddy from WLR to the school on the 19th of the month.

Sixth year LCVP students completed their portfolio of coursework this week by conducting their recorded interviews for their Leaving Certificate. The LCVP course is unique in that 60% of the subject is completed in school and the final 40% consists of a terminal written exam in May.

The Annual Information Night for parents/ students of Third Year was held last Tuesday night and a large attendance was present to hear Ms. Steenson, Guidance Teacher and Mr. Widger TYO and LCVP co-ordinator address the meeting on the various options available for Senior Cycle students. The students are currently discussing the various options with all staff for next year.

The Parents Council are currently involved in fund-raising and announcements regarding various events will be made soon.

Ba mhaith leis an scoil beannachtai a chur chuig gach duine le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge.
