Tramore C.B.S.
The past week in C.B.S. Tramore has been a busy and productive one for students and staff alike. Transition year students have settled well into the year following their initial bonding trip up the Comeragh mountains in desperate weather conditions. This was followed by a day spent Nordic walking and blo karting on the beach. The students have also welcomed their first guest speaker from the Irish Guide Dogs association who spoke to them about the wonderful work this organisation undertakes.
For the first time transition year students have begun a cookery course under the instruction of Ms. Mooney. They have already become familiar with kitchen organisation, food storage and hygiene. The first meal they prepared was a full Irish breakfast. Transition year students are also busy preparing their C.V.s and letter of applications and have also started their Meals on Wheels programme. On Tuseday 16th they will spend the day attending a personal development course.
In hurling the schools senior team played De La Salle in Cleaboy last week. This was a very competitive and keenly contested encounter producing hurling of a high standard. There were some fine individual performances especially from David Jacob and Paul Power who were outstanding in the half-back line while up front Fergus Lohan was very impressive. Others to shine were Tim O Byrne, Conor Kennedy, David Connlooy, Hugh Breheny, Darragh Grace and Evan Connolly. Tramore were unlucky to lose on the scoreline 1 13 to 0 12. This week Tramore C.B.S. take on St. Pauls. There will be a second year hurling 7 aside blitz on Friday 26th Sept. and there will be a first year hurling blitz on Friday 21st Nov.
Finally the school would like to congratulate all students who received Junior Certificate results last week. Once again the results were outstanding.
