Tramore Races

It has been a dismal start to the bright new Year for the Tramore and District squad courtesy of a combination of waterlogged racecourses, gallops, injury and illness.

The one bright spark was provided by the almost €17,000 increase in the overall Tote aggregate at the two day meeting.  An attack of “seconditis” kept spirits low with runner-up slots for Thyme Again 5/4 and Shay Barry in a Grade Two Chase, Chelsea Harbour 16/1 in the Grade A Thyestes Chase and a head defeat for the Henry de Bromhead trained Sizing America 11/4.  For another Knockeen entrant it was heads up in the right direction for An Cathaoir Mor at 7/1 to hopefully herald a long overdue change of fortune for the squad.
