Ferns United 1; Tramore 2

The U-16 girls took a giant step towards the Wexford Premier League title with this two goal to one win over second placed Ferns United at the Wexford venue on Saturday last. Going behind midway through the first half to a superbly struck free kick. The Tramore girls had to dig deep and had goalkeeper Beth Cummins to thank, making two first class saved to keep the score at 1-0. Just on the stroke of half time Jessica Gleeson got the equaliser, drilling home from 15 yards after good work down the right flank from Lorna Malone and Ciara O’Brien. With Tramore well on top in the second half Niamh Walsh got the all important winning goal volleying a magnificent strike from 25 yards to leave the Ferns keeper helpless.
