100 Ways to See Our World’ is an exhibition of paintings by local 2nd year students that will run at the Index Gallery in Central Library until 30th November.

The work is by over one hundred pupils from the Presentation, Mount Sion and De la Salle secondary schools. Some of the paintings are based on work from the Waterford Municipal Art Collection, while others were inspired by the collection.
The Waterford City Council ‘Arts Participation Programme’ took place during the autumn. The series of workshops were facilitated by local artist Christine O’Brien Shanahan.
Paintings from the initial ‘Introduction to Painting’ session are also included. Other works show how background colours can influence how we think about a painting. The students went to see artwork from the Municipal Art Collection at Greyfriars Gallery and City Hall.
Library opening hours are 10am to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday. It opens until 8pm on Wednesday and is closed from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday.
