he Railings’ first date of Saturday, 21st June, to coincide with WiKID Waterford. She is taking part in Art On The Railings to support the creative activities in the city and says ‘it’s a huge opportunity to showcase hidden talent but also to come together as a group to say “this is Waterford and its vibrant and its alive”.’ Mailo has always painted, it is something that she did as a kid and she takes her inspiration from everyday life. Recently she was inspired by a visit to Mount Congreve, as the spring colours were vibrant and to her signified the return of hope. As Mailo says ‘No matter how bad the winter is, mother nature will find a way to come through’. The exhibitions will take place on particular Saturdays over the summer months, with the artwork hung from railings in specified spaces within the city from 11am to 4pm. The exhibition is a pilot project collaboration between Destination Waterford City Tourism, Waterford City Arts office and The Viking Triangle Trust Co with the kind permission of the festival organisers. More information can be received on 087 931 0007 or or and the exhibition is open to all artists.
