‘Do Irish Clouds Dream of Becoming Sheep’
A new art exhibition, titled “Do Irish Clouds Dream of Becoming Sheep?” opened at the Index Gallery space in Waterford City Council Central Library at Lady Lane. The exhibition, featuring artist, Conrado Velasco, will exhibit photographs, drawings and objects.
Conrado Velasco is a Waterford-based artist, designer, and lecturer, who studied architecture, art, and graphic design in the Philippines. He has worked and exhibited in North America, Australia, Europe and Asia. As an art director and photographer, his client list includes clothiers and lifestyle purveyors like GAP, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma.
Conrado Velasco’s recent photographic work was featured in the January 2008 issue of SOURCE, a UK publication on contemporary art photography.
Waterford Healing Arts Trust selected Conrado’s work “Airborne” for display in the “Passengers” exhibition at WRH in January-March 2008. His artworks were included in Greyfriars’ “Shape Things To Come” exhibition in the 2007 Imagine Festival, and also in the 2007 Shandon Art Trail in Cork City. Conrado’s artwork for the 2006 Claremorris Open Exhibition was also shown in ‘The Irish Times’ art review. Conrado lectures on photography in Waterford and abroad.
