New exhibition at the Tramore Coastguard Station

Claire Bourke who is currently exhibiting ‘Through the Lens’ at the Coastguard Station, Tramore.
The Coastguard Station. Love Lane, Tramore is gearing up for a very positive year in 2010 with the venue being used for art classes, exhibitions and cultural events which will enhance the town for the locals and visitors alike.
The upstairs gallery will be showing the photographic exhibition “Through The Lens” by Claire Ryan Bourke from Sunday 7th March until 4th April, this exhibition is touring after a successful outing recently in West Waterford.
Claire is currently living in Kilkenny and has had a great interest in photography since her early 20 s. Her interest in digital photography has taken a new turn with the completion of her City and Guilds Course in WIT. She is also a member of the Tower Painters Group.
She has travelled to various parts of the globe including America, China, New Zealand and extensively in Europe. In November 2008 she made the trip of a lifetime to Antarctica with expedition leader and explorer Pat Falvey.
She regularly exhibits during the Kilkenny Arts Festival and her work has appeared in several magazines and publications on the theme of the environment, nature, landscapes, wildlife and world travel.
Coming in April is an exhibition by Tramore’s own Rachel Smith titled ‘Inside my head …’ . The exhibitions programme for the rest of the year has a strong Tramore and East Waterford artistic input.
The Coastguard Station, Love Lane, Tramore is open Monday to Thursday 10.30am to 4.30pm (lunch 1- 2pm) and on Sundays from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. Telephone 051/391656.
