Rockscapes & Surfaces at Garter Lane

SurfacesRockscapes & Surfaces is an exhibition of new works by Waterford based artists Milia Tsaoussis-Maddock and Bernard Queally launching at Garter Lane Theatre Gallery on Saturday 6th March at 3.00pm.

Milia’s works conveys her personal interpretation and abstraction of both the natural and urban landscape. Her main inspiration is primarily from the microcosmic landscape perceived in rocks. It is a personal exploration into a landscape often unnoticed. She finds landscapes in individual rocks each carved by time and natural forces. For her they convey an inherent beauty that only needs to be seen and in some manner subjectively interpreted and expressed.

Each of Milia’s compositions are unique. Colours, patterns, textures and the rhythm of the brushstrokes reflect a landscape of mood and movement, echoing nature’s constant state of flux.
