A programme to develop emerging street arts, circus and spectacle performers is being supported by The Arts Council during this year’s Spraoi Festival. The N.E.S.T. programme will result in three new shows by Irish artists having their world premiere this coming Friday and Saturday evenings.

Waterford Spraoi Festival proudly presents the N.E.S.T. Stage, featuring Alex Allison (Galway), Francesca Castellano (Cork) and Aidan Phelan & Amelie Bal of Réalta Circus & Street Theatre Company (Galway). Audiences can expect new shows developed by the artists with encouragement from Spraoi. The N.E.S.T. (New Emerging Street Arts) Programme is curated for Spraoi by Conn Horgan of the famous Fanzini Brothers.

All four artists represent a new generation of Irish street and circus performers. Spraoi is excited to showcase their talents and ideas, partly developed by a two-day residency at Spraoi Studios, Waterford, in early July.

Following Spraoi, these shows will feature at the Irish National Circus Festival in Tralee and at the Out There Festival, Great Yarmouth (UK), with encouragement from the Irish Street Arts Circus and Spectacle Network.
