Billy O'Brien, who will be joined by Marian Power and Philip Keegan at the Large Room on July 17th.

Waterford pianist Billy O’Brien will be joined by Siobhan Doyle (violin), Marian Power (violin), Philip Keegan (viola and tenor) and Yseult Cooper Stockdale (cello), for a concert of delightful summer classics at the Large Room, City Hall, on Monday, July 17th at 8pm.
These are highly talented and successful young players with a proud Waterford connection. Billy is from Butlerstown, while Marian is the daughter of well-known Waterford musician and teacher Catherine Power (also of this newspapering parish!).
Siobhan Doyle’s dad Seamus is a Waterford man who plays Double Bass with the National Concert Orchestra, while Philip told us that he has spent many a summer holiday at Dunmore East.
The concert programme will include some really popular and beautiful classics such as ‘The Swan’ for cello and piano by Camile Saint Saens, Frederic Chopin’s stirring ‘Heroic Polonaise’ for piano, ‘Salut d’Amour’ for piano and violin by Edward Elgar, along with songs by Richard Strauss and Vaughan Williams and meditation from Thais by Jules Massenet.
The programme will also include the premiere of Waterford composer Ben Hanlon’s ‘Piano Quintet No.1′.
Tickets are priced at €15 (Concession: €12) and are available from both The Book Centre and on the door.
